Job Summary

We are seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to join our team at our main processing facility in Brooks, Alberta. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical code specifications and blueprints to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
• Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
• Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors
• Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
• May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices

Requirements

• Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
• 3 years' industrial electrician experience (inclusive of time spent as an electrician apprentice)
• Strong electrical, instrumentation, automation, pneumatics experience required
• Medium Voltage, Weigh Scales, Vision Systems, HMI, Siemens S5/S7, Allen Bradley SLC5 PLC, VFD, Servomotors, Profibus / Ethernet Network Communications experience essential
• Electrical construction, installation experience required
• Must be able to design and carry out minor modifications on industrial equipment
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision
