We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at our main processing facility in Brooks, Alberta. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment.

Job Description

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and a minimum of 3 years' experience in industrial electrical work. They will be skilled in reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.

The successful candidate will also have experience installing, examining, replacing, or repairing electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.

In addition, they will be able to test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.

Maintenance, repair, installation, and testing of switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors are also essential responsibilities of this role.

Furthermore, the selected candidate will maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices are additional duties that will be required.

The individual will conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep accurate maintenance records.

Requirements
  • Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years' industrial electrician experience (inclusive of time spent as an electrician apprentice).
  • Strong electrical, instrumentation, automation, pneumatics experience is required.
  • MEDIUM VOLTAGE, WEIGH SCALES, VISION SYSTEMS, HMI, SIEMENS S5/S7, ALLEN BRADLEY SLC5 PLC, VFD, SERVO MOTORS, PROFIBUS / ETHERNET NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS experience essential.
  • Electrical construction, installation experience is required.
  • Must be able to design and carry out minor modifications on industrial equipment.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision.

This position requires a competitive wage ranging from $42.55 to $43.80 per hour.
