WSP Global Inc. is seeking a skilled Technologist to become a part of our Municipal Engineering division. This role will be based in our Ottawa office and will report directly to the Manager. The successful candidate will engage in CADD Civil 3D tasks and conduct periodic inspections at construction sites for municipal projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in engineering design tasks within a collaborative team setting.
  • Assist in the creation of concept, preliminary, and detailed engineering drawings, designs, and plans, including plan & profiles, sections, and details for various project stages.
  • Support grading and servicing design efforts.
  • Utilize Civil 3D for pipe network design, road design through corridors, and grading design using advanced surface and grading tools.
  • Collaborate with Engineers in the design, drafting, and preparation of contract documents related to land development, municipal, or transportation projects.
  • Conduct construction inspections on projects in the Ottawa area.
  • Address construction challenges in coordination with site project managers and field supervisors.
  • Perform quantity measurements, maintain daily reports, and participate in construction meetings.
  • Complete construction as-built documentation for record-keeping and approval.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Civil 3D across various projects, with a focus on road reconstructions and site plan approvals being advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract management and site inspections for road construction.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on teamwork and interpersonal relations.
  • Comfortable working independently in both office and field settings.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Autodesk Civil 3D is required.
  • Proactive approach with a keen attention to detail.
