About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technician to join our team at HC Matcon Inc. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings, and participate in field surveys, inspections, or technical investigations.
  • Project Coordination: Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements, and supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations, and testing of construction materials.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word, and have experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure project goals are met.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a civil engineering role.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Personal Qualities: Initiative, organized, and a team player with a strong attention to detail.
