About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Technician to join our team at Akal Optical (Milton) Ltd. as an Equipment Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating various pieces of equipment in our medical facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Healthcare Professionals: Provide support to our medical team in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Follow Through on Treatment Programs: Collaborate with patients to ensure they receive the best possible care.
  • Maintain Prescription Records: Accurately record and update patient information.
  • Clean and Maintain Equipment: Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained to prevent contamination.
  • Prepare and Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Restock and prepare equipment and supplies for use.
  • Operate and Maintain Sterilization Equipment: Safely operate and maintain sterilization equipment to prevent infection.
  • Maintain Supplies: Order and manage inventory of medical supplies.
  • Maintain Inventory of Equipment: Track and maintain a record of all equipment.
  • Perform General Clerical Duties: Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and data entry.
  • Prepare and Maintain Cleanliness of Collection Areas: Ensure all collection areas are clean and organized.
  • Process Files and Paperwork: Accurately process and manage patient files and paperwork.
  • Schedule and Confirm Appointments: Coordinate patient appointments and confirm schedules.
  • Manage Routine Office Functions: Assist with reception, telephone, and booking appointments.
  • Order Supplies and Equipment: Procure necessary supplies and equipment for the facility.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Manage and maintain a record of all inventory.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 30 hours per week.
