Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Technical Specialist to provide expertise in the inspection and maintenance of steam generators within a nuclear engineering context. This role involves collaboration with a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for steam generator inspection and maintenance initiatives, focusing on engineering life cycle management for planned outages.
  • Analyze and interpret results from eddy current and ultrasonic inspections, along with visual assessments.
  • Offer engineering guidance for risk assessments, foreign material evaluations, and modifications to inspection or outage scopes.
  • Assist in recommendations for tube plugging and pulling in accordance with fitness-for-service criteria and inspection protocols.
  • Facilitate the clarification of specification requirements and coordinate necessary technical adjustments for projects.
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, and manufacturing phases of the steam generator replacement program, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with project requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Nuclear Engineering setting, specifically with steam generators.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards governing pressure boundaries, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of non-destructive examination methods and regulatory interactions.
  • Knowledge of periodic inspection programs and materials science principles applicable to steam generators.
  • Expertise in steam generator design and degradation mechanisms, with a Professional Engineer of Ontario license.
