About the Role:

First Student Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Shop Manager to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our diesel shop, ensuring maximum productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and supervise all shop activities to ensure maximum productivity through the use of fleet maintenance software.
  • Make recommendations and obtain quotations for facility upgrades as part of the annual capital budgeting process.
  • Participate in setting shop budget and conduct monthly reviews with the Location Manager to ensure goals are being met and discuss variances to plan.
  • Ensure the branch fleet is maintained to government and company requirements.
  • Maintain company facilities in a clean, safe, and environmentally sound manner.
  • Oversee the performance of Brake, Safety, and PM inspections.
  • Monthly reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of supervisory or fleet management experience.
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance software or similar systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and management skills.
  • Subject to a background check and drug test.
