Diesel Shop Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Shop Manager to join our team at First Student Canada. As a Diesel Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our diesel shop, ensuring that our fleet of vehicles is maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and supervise all shop activities to ensure maximum productivity
  • Makes recommendations and obtain quotations for facility upgrades
  • Participates in setting shop budget and conducts monthly reviews with Location Manager
  • Ensure branch fleet is maintained to government and company requirements
  • Maintain company facilities in a clean, safe and environmentally sound manner
  • Oversee the performance of Brake, Safety and PM inspections
  • Monthly reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years supervisory or fleet management experience
  • Knowledge of VMS or similar fleet maintenance system
  • Strong communication, organizational skills and management skills
