Sessional Instructional Assistant, Insurance Products and Regulation with AXIS

This is a part-time opportunity for a Sessional Instructional Assistant to support the teaching and learning process in the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the delivery of instruction to students in the course ACT475H1S L0101, focusing on insurance products and regulation with AXIS.
- Develop and implement teaching materials, including case studies and exercises, to enhance student learning.
- Grade assignments and exams, providing feedback to students to support their academic growth.
- Participate in tutorial teaching, invigilating term tests and final exams, and setting tutorial quizzes.
- Collaborate with the course instructor to ensure a high-quality learning experience for students.
- Academic background in statistical sciences, actuarial science, statistics, or biostatistics.
- Familiarity with the actuarial software AXIS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students and faculty.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
This is a part-time position, with an estimated 65 hours of work per term. The successful candidate will be required to work on Fridays from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is $52.26, plus vacation pay.
