About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Stringed Instrument Repairer to join our team at Wilder & Davis étude. As a Stringed Instrument Repairer, you will be responsible for inspecting and repairing stringed musical instruments, including violas, violins, and cellos.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Diagnose Instruments: Carefully examine stringed instruments to determine the requirements for repair, ensuring that each instrument is restored to its optimal condition.
  • Repair and Restore Instruments: Utilize hand, power, or specially designed tools to repair or replace defective or worn-out parts and components, ensuring that each instrument meets the highest standards of quality.
  • Test and Calibrate Instruments: Thoroughly test and adjust repaired instruments to ensure proper functioning, and calibrate instruments using hand tools to guarantee accuracy.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Possess an Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience in the field of stringed instrument repair.
  • Work Setting: Work in a fast-paced repair environment, providing on-site customer service and ensuring that each instrument is restored to its optimal condition.
  • Physical Capabilities: Possess manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination, with the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
