Position Summary

The Building Maintenance Technician IV - CCQ Electrician plays a crucial role in executing both preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as routine and emergency services on mechanical and electrical systems within the designated facility. This position requires adherence to established protocols and compliance with both internal and external regulations, including environmental, health, safety, and fire protection standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Possess a Journeyman level Electrician license (CCQ membership required).
  • Execute tasks in line with established processes and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Perform regular inspections and monitoring of facility systems to maintain operational efficiency and asset integrity.
  • Provide insights regarding system conditions and recommend necessary enhancements or repairs.
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs and monitor mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems and equipment.
  • Respond to service requests and carry out maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Document maintenance activities in the service management database, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Track and report on the status of maintenance work, initiating necessary documentation for approvals.
  • Assist in implementing the preventative maintenance program, ensuring deficiencies are recorded and escalated.
  • Participate in facility-related projects as required.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate and legislative policies regarding safety and environmental practices.
  • Maintain tools and arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Submit all expense reports promptly.
  • Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through quality service delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Requirements

  • Availability for shifts, on-call duties, and emergency response.
  • Willingness to utilize personal protective equipment.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Over 4 years of experience in facility operations and maintenance.
  • High school diploma along with relevant trades training and certification.
  • Proficient in executing facility operations and maintenance processes.
  • Advanced skills in maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities for resolving system issues.
  • Current knowledge of safety codes and standards.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental best practices.
  • Client-focused with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills for data exchange and clarification.

Licenses and Certifications

Required: Journeyman level Electrician license (CCQ membership necessary).

Preferred: Certifications in Facilities Technician or Systems Maintenance Technician from BOMI.

Additional Requirements: Must meet security clearance standards and possess a valid driver's license.
