Position Overview
As a Building Systems Technologist, you will join a vibrant team dedicated to conceptualizing and organizing the essential information required to transform client visions into reality. Utilizing advanced software such as AutoCAD and Revit, you will develop designs that adhere to applicable regulations and client specifications. Your role will involve collaboration with various departments to ensure precise information is available for production processes.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will encompass:
- Collaborating closely with the Architectural team to grasp client requirements.
- Preparing essential plumbing, ventilation, or electrical schematics, specifications, or other documentation to construct residential and commercial properties in accordance with design standards and regulations.
- Conducting hydraulic load, ventilation, energy efficiency, electrical load, or heat loss assessments.
- Executing quantity take-offs and assembling hardcopy drawing packages for manufacturing.
- Performing quality assurance checks on drawings and details to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Engaging in cross-departmental collaboration to enhance the precision and efficiency of drawings, details, and related information.
- Providing technical support to sales, procurement, manufacturing, service, and other departments as necessary.
- Undertaking additional tasks related to design and engineering as required.
Required Qualifications
In this position, you will have the opportunity to leverage your technical skills and creativity within a nurturing and innovative environment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, along with a comprehensive understanding of systems and energy efficiency in residential construction. Your familiarity with building codes and expertise in design software will be vital in crafting accurate and effective solutions.
Your qualifications should include:
- Relevant training or experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as energy efficiency considerations pertinent to residential construction.
- Familiarity with building, plumbing, energy, and electrical codes and standards.
- Experience in estimating and conducting quantity take-offs.
- Strong attention to detail, effective communication, planning, and organizational capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, with experience in Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other graphic and design software.
