Key Responsibilities: As an Apprentice 310T Truck & Coach Technician, you will be expected to:

  • Adhere to MTB's safety protocols.
  • Maintain effective communication with your Supervisor.
  • Exhibit reliability and thoroughness in your work.
  • Execute all entry-level tasks efficiently.
  • Comprehend and interpret information communicated verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Apply mechanical skills effectively.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Show flexibility and self-motivation in a fast-paced setting.
  • Manage multiple tasks while remaining organized and demonstrating excellent time management.
  • Pay attention to detail and ensure follow-up practices are in place.
  • Service all company vehicles.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on city buses and highway coaches.
  • Follow established MTO policies and procedures for vehicle maintenance.
  • Complete and maintain PM paperwork.
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning of the shop and equipment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Candidates should be mechanically inclined with a strong work ethic.
  • A genuine desire to learn and apply knowledge in daily tasks is essential.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and work effectively in a team is crucial.
  • Enrollment in and successful completion of the 310T Apprenticeship program is required.

Working Environment: At MTB, you will work in a bright, clean, and modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art tools. We offer a positive work environment that is non-unionized, featuring many long-term employees.

Additional Information:

  • Our facility is conveniently located with easy access for commuters.
  • Standard shifts are Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with no night or weekend work.
  • Work indoors during colder months.
  • Participate in innovative projects, including the new electric (EV) bus conversion program.
