Nursing Education Position for Registered Nurses

Are you passionate about advancing your nursing career? We invite you to explore an exciting opportunity as a Registered Nurse focused on specialty education within our team at Northern Health Authority.
This role reports directly to the Director of Care and aligns with the Vision and Values of Northern Health, as well as the BCCNM Standards of Practice and Codes of Ethics.
In this position, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care tailored to meet the physical, social, and psychological needs of patients, adhering to established policies and procedures.
As a member of our dedicated nursing team, you will engage in a comprehensive training program that includes:
- Support for placement and funding for educational materials and travel expenses related to clinical placements.
- A commitment of 4 to 6 months for both online and in-person learning experiences.
- Additional study time outside of scheduled hours to ensure successful program completion.
- Flexibility in scheduling for practicums.
- Completion of the educational program is mandatory before commencing work in the department.
- An eighteen (18) month return of service in a regular nursing position following successful program completion.
- Priority consideration for specialty positions for qualified applicants, with training available for unqualified candidates.
The start date and working hours for this educational initiative will vary, offering ongoing learning opportunities throughout the year.

If you are applying from outside the country, please ensure you meet the following qualifications:
- Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Current Level C CPR certification.
- Recent experience in Labour and Delivery, Recovery, or Postpartum care is preferred.
- Proficiency in managing equipment necessary for patient care in an acute care setting.
- Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
- Ability to maintain personal physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize and organize patient care effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in orienting new staff members.
- Effective interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders, including colleagues, physicians, and patients.
- Competence in operating relevant medical equipment.
