About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Custodian to join our team at 1195110 Ontario Inc. as a Maintenance and Cleaning Professional. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and well-maintained environment.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment to ensure a safe and functional environment.
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure the well-being of our students and staff.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Work with minimal supervision to demonstrate your independence and reliability.
Requirements
  • Repetitive tasks are a regular part of this role, requiring attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling are necessary to perform tasks such as cleaning and maintenance.
  • Weight handling is required to move equipment and supplies, with a maximum weight of 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • Dependability, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, and reliability are essential qualities for this role.
  • Will train on the job to ensure you have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform your duties effectively.
