We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team at Canada Construction Limited. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction and renovation of residential and commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and layout building plans in accordance with building codes, using precision measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel, to create precise and durable structures.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure a solid and secure building framework.
- Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the building envelope.
- Train and mentor apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge in carpentry and construction techniques.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate existing buildings and structures, including residences, commercial properties, and industrial facilities.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in carpentry and construction.
- Ability to work at heights and in noisy, dusty environments.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to handle heavy loads.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Reliability and punctuality to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Experience with hand tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Parking available on site.
- Temporary work term with opportunities for advancement.
- English language required for communication and collaboration.
- 40 hours per week with regular working hours.
