Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Big Data Engineer with expertise in Java and cloud technologies to develop and optimize big data applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in application development and experience in designing micro-service architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop big data applications using Java and cloud technologies.
  • Develop and optimize big data pipelines using Hadoop, Spark, and cloud providers.
  • Design and implement micro-service architectures for big data applications.
  • Migrate large-scale complex projects to cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy big data solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in big data and cloud computing.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in application development with Java and cloud technologies.
  • 10+ years of experience in Java and Spring Framework.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and optimizing big data applications using Java and Spark on Cloudera/HDP.
  • Experience in designing micro-service architectures.
  • Extensive experience in cloud providers such as AWS/Azure.
  • Proven hands-on experience in containerization – Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift etc.
  • Experience in developing applications in Spring & Spring Boot.
  • Programming experience in Python (2+ years).
  • Working knowledge of Jenkins CI, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders – business and technical.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in building end-to-end data pipelines on AWS/Azure and/or Databricks.
  • Knowledge in Market Risk/Capital Markets/Banking.
