Job Title: Pharmacy Technician - Full Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications
  • Conduct medication inventory and ordering
  • Operate point of sale systems and manage cash handling
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure quality care
Requirements:
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Graduated from a Pharmacy Technician Program at a recognized or accredited private or community college
  • 3-5 years experience in retail setting, with preference to retail oncology setting
  • Experience in working with Kroll, third party billings, point of sale systems, Mosaiq and Meditech
  • Knowledge of Cancer Care Ontario care plans and funding an asset
  • Experience working with and handling cytotoxic medications
  • Experience in narcotic and controlled drug inventory procedures
  • Experience in the use of computers
  • Good organizational skills and be able to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self learner, who seeks and evaluates learning opportunities to enhance patient care and continuously strives to maintain lifelong learning
