Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the scientific and technical integrity of laboratory operations.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate methodologies and equipment.
  • Conduct quality control assessments and proficiency testing, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Quality Control Manager for comprehensive reviews.
  • Analyze and interpret complex cases and incomplete work.
  • Guarantee that all abnormal and urgent reports are processed according to established protocols.
  • Develop, revise, and communicate departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff regarding departmental policies.
  • Ensure timely distribution and posting of updates and notifications.
  • Identify and prioritize budgetary needs for the department.
  • Maintain financial accountability for departmental budget management.
  • Oversee inventory management and routine supply orders.
  • Assist in resolving inventory-related issues.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, and performance management for departmental staff.
  • Ensure comprehensive training and safety instruction for all employees.
  • Manage operational functions, including staff scheduling and orientation.
  • Design and implement training initiatives for staff development.
  • Accurately record and submit attendance and payroll information.
  • Monitor compliance and prepare statistical reports for review.
  • Delegate responsibilities and maintain laboratory facilities and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of managerial experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficient in leadership systems and continuous improvement practices, ideally within a laboratory context.
  • Strong understanding of operational planning, resource allocation, and customer service best practices.
  • Ability to create and enhance Value Streams and Process Maps for improved service delivery.

  • Standard office setting.
