Job Summary

Dynacare is seeking a highly skilled Senior Billing Clerk to join our team. As a Senior Billing Clerk, you will be responsible for the processing of invoices and/or collection of accounts due.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze client and patient invoices to ensure accurate billing and compliance with contracts.
  • Edit invoices, make adjustments to accounts, and prepare corrected invoices as needed.
  • Post payments, adjustments, and/or transfers.
  • Requisition entry for private accounts as required.
  • Generate aging reports of outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Follow-up with physicians and/or clients on delinquent accounts.
  • Collect outstanding accounts following established procedures.
  • Ensure all outstanding unpaid claims are reviewed, investigated, and rebilled.
  • Recommend claims for write-off.
  • Handle cash, including bank deposits and reconcile balances as required.
  • Reconcile non-payments, investigate delinquent or incomplete payments, and resubmit as needed.
  • Analyze private accounts and prepare a report of the collection status for management.
  • Maintain organized files for tracking purposes of all client contracts and original invoices.
  • Maintain a tracking system for accounts payable invoices.
  • Assist with the allocation of cheques and posting of payments for financial reporting purposes and monthly reconciliation.
  • Contribute to Dynacare's learning and knowledge-based culture by sharing in the responsibility of training and skill development of new team members as requested.

Requirements

  • Ability to make simple decisions based on accurate information and inform supervisor of decisions made.
  • Propose new ideas on how procedures may be improved for efficiency.
  • Ability to work in a steady-paced environment with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • 2-year community college diploma in a related field.
  • 3 years of related experience in billing and finance.
  • AS400 and Great Plains are strong assets.
