About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Consultant to join our team at Mercer Canada. As a Legal Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting our consultants and clients with legal aspects of registered pension plans, savings plans, and employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects of varying complexity and scope related to registered pension plans, savings plans, taxation, and benefits.
  • Assist in developing pension, savings plans, and employee benefit documents.
  • Collaborate with clients and their legal counsel to find practical solutions to matters relating to retirement savings arrangements and employee benefits.
  • Inform Mercer consultants and clients of legal developments and participate in training and professional development activities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working independently as well as in a team with Mercer legal and tax professionals and other Mercer consultants.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in pension and employee benefit law, or has worked for a minimum of five years in a related legal field, and demonstrates a keen interest in pension and employee benefit law.
  • Relevant experience in taxation will be considered an asset.
  • Bilingual French (verbal/written) is an asset.
