The Italian Trade Commission (ITC) is looking for candidates for the temporary role of Trade Support Analyst focused on the Food Sector.
This position is designed to assist the Trade Analyst team within the food sector. It is a temporary role intended to cover for a staff member currently on leave. If the original staff member returns before the contract with the Trade Support Analyst concludes, the latter's contract will be terminated with a two-week notice period.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in a vibrant and dynamic work setting, gaining valuable professional skills through on-the-job training and experience.
Position Overview - Key Details
- Visa eligibility - must be a Canadian citizen or possess a valid visa; the ITC will not provide sponsorship for employees.
- Experience Level - Entry-level, requiring 2 years of relevant experience in a comparable position.
- Educational Background - Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Business Administration, Public Policy, or Communication is preferred.
- Language Proficiency - Fluency in English and French is required; knowledge of Italian is advantageous (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Employment Type - This is a full-time temporary position, requiring 35 hours per week at the ITC's office. Remote work is not an option.
- Compensation - Salary will be commensurate with experience, up to 4,300 CAD per month, with a potential end-of-contract bonus based on performance.
- Contract Length - Up to 6 months.
Responsibilities of the Trade Support Analyst
- Assisting Italian businesses in entering the Canadian market and occasionally supporting Canadian firms interested in engaging with Italy through tailored services (information, marketing assistance, and business networking).
- Planning, budgeting, and executing promotional activities as part of the ITA Agency's initiatives or as requested by specific clients, with full or partial oversight of various organizational elements of each project.
- Identifying business opportunities using multi-channel databases and information resources, participating in webinars, conferences, and networking events.
- Maintaining relationships with third parties and involved agencies, which may involve contacting potential clients or suppliers related to marketing efforts.
- Performing administrative tasks such as managing requests for quotes, contracts, or reports.
- Creating marketing and market analysis content and materials.
- Updating databases and websites and executing multi-channel promotional campaigns, including social media outreach.
- Coordinating business travel for representatives of Italian companies to Canada, as well as for Canadian business representatives to Italy.
- Traveling domestically and internationally as necessary.
- Completing other specific tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications
- Education : University Degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, Public Policy, or Law.
- Language Skills : Proficiency in French and English; Italian proficiency is a plus.
- Experience : Minimum of two years in a similar role.
- Additional Skills : Proficient in MS Office, Internet, Email, Google Suite, and social media; strong time management, planning, and prioritization skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities; attention to detail; adaptability, initiative, and flexibility; professional demeanor.
Employment Conditions
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada, meaning they must be Canadian citizens or hold Permanent Residency status. The Italian Trade Commission will not provide sponsorship for employees.
