Role Overview

As the Director of Corporate Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving Pembina's growth strategy through strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and divestitures. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Capital Markets, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and execute high-impact transactions that align with Pembina's overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of Pembina's corporate development plan, ensuring it is aligned with the company's strategic direction and growth ambitions.
  • Spearhead high-priority projects, including strategic transactions, business development opportunities, and capital allocation decisions, driving successful outcomes.
  • Identify and evaluate potential M&A targets, partnerships, and joint ventures that support Pembina's expansion goals and enhance its market position.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence processes, financial analysis, and valuation assessments for potential transactions, providing sound recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage negotiations and collaborate with legal, finance, and operational teams to structure and execute complex transactions effectively.
  • Contribute to Pembina's evolving capital allocation framework, working closely with the Strategy team and Corporate Planning to optimize resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, investment bankers, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing corporate development team, providing guidance, training, mentorship, performance management, and fostering career growth.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market conditions to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.
  • Prepare and present compelling presentations and reports to senior management, effectively communicating complex financial and strategic information.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of success in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, or related fields. A deep understanding of the energy industry, coupled with exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, is essential for this role.
