Job Summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for providing electrical support and expertise to ensure the successful completion of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and terminate electrical cables, equipment, and control components
  • Fabricate control panels and wiring check-out
  • Layout and plan electrical installations, including circuit design and material quantification
  • Provide input on design and installation issues
  • Ensure electrical installations meet applicable regulations and trade practices
  • Install, alter, repair, and maintain electrical equipment
  • Pull wire through conduits and cables
  • Read and interpret electrical code specifications and drawings
  • Splice, join, and connect wire to fixtures and components
  • Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and isolate electrical system faults
  • Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control equipment
Requirements
  • Certified Journeyperson Ticket or Indentured in Apprenticeship Program
  • 2-3 years' experience in high voltage, lockout tagout, and circuit isolation
  • 2-3 years' experience in industrial or maintenance projects
  • 2-3 years' experience reading and interpreting electronic schematics and drawings
  • 2-3 years' experience working with high voltage power equipment
  • 2-3 years' experience commissioning and decommissioning electrical systems
  • Mechanical ability, strength, and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work at heights and in various environments
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods
  • Ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and policies
  • Proficient communication and reading skills
  • Ability to perform precise work and distinguish colors
Compensation and Benefits
  • $45.33 - $50.00 hourly rate
  • Shift rotation to change per project requirements
  • Flexible work hours, including 5 days on, 2 days off, 10 days on, 4 days off, and 14 days on, 7 days off
  • Overtime paid at 1.5 times the employee's straight time hourly rate after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week
  • 6% vacation and 4% statutory holiday pay
Working Conditions and Environment
  • Primary work location at a site in Edmonton/Sherwood Park/Fort Saskatchewan (and surrounding areas), Alberta
  • Repetitive movement and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg
