About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in the Fleet Services Branch within the Ministry of Highways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular maintenance inspections on trucks, highway construction equipment, and light vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment problems using mechanical, electrical, and computerized test equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as fluid and filter changes, brake replacements, and exhaust system repairs.
  • Develop and modify new and existing equipment or systems as assigned.
  • Enter and retrieve data on the computer.
  • Travel throughout the province with the possibility of overnight stays.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess a valid Journeyperson Certificate recognized by the Province of Saskatchewan in one of the following trades:

  • Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic
  • Truck and Transport Mechanic
  • Agricultural Machinery Technician

Candidates in their 3rd or 4th year apprenticeship in the trades listed above may also be considered.
