**Job Summary**
The Tape Department Supervisor is a key leadership role within the Intertape Polymer Group, responsible for the overall management and supervision of the Tape Department. This position requires a strong leader who can drive performance outcomes, productivity targets, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage the Tape department, including Tape Lines, Repro, and Coreline equipment across multiple shifts.
- Plan, supervise, and direct daily production operations, anticipating and alleviating production problems such as material shortages, equipment malfunctions, and employee-related situations.
- Coach and develop the team to achieve high levels of performance and productivity.
- Participate in the selection and interview process to fill hourly employee positions.
- Conduct employee reviews and maintain training and performance documentation.
- Initiate efforts to introduce cost reductions and drive continuous improvements in methods or equipment.
- Supervise and lead departmental safety and housekeeping practices, maintaining a constant alert for hazardous conditions.
- Educate employees and enforce company rules and regulations, including safety rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Manage hourly employee performance, including administering discipline where necessary.
- Lead and participate in company-sponsored activities such as training, site projects, and safety programs.
- Perform production-related administrative tasks, such as payroll hours approval, reporting, and associated tasks.
- Provide quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
**Essential Skills and Experience**
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience managing and developing teams in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role required.
- Previous experience in extrusion and/or a demonstrated ability to learn and develop these skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with demonstrated skills in making sound decisions, are critical.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are required.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to achieve results.
- Able to deal with ambiguity and successfully manage change.
- A dedicated team player who works well cross-functionally.
- Solid computer skills, including MS Office, with a focus on Excel, would be an asset.
- Experience in lean manufacturing is a strong asset.
