Job Title: Production Supervisor - Beaming Department

IPG is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to lead our Beaming Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the department, ensuring high-quality production, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Beaming Department, including four beamers and the Milner, across multiple shifts.
  • Oversee inventory management, including tape, beams, and barrel inventory.
  • Implement waste control measures, including rejects.
  • Maintain side loaders and creel maintenance.
  • Plan, supervise, and direct daily production operations, anticipating and alleviating production problems.
  • Coach and develop the team, focusing on employee growth and development.
  • Participate in the selection and interview process for hourly employee positions.
  • Conduct employee reviews and maintain training and performance documentation.
  • Initiate cost reduction efforts and drive continuous improvements in methods or equipment.
  • Supervise and lead departmental safety and housekeeping practices, maintaining a constant alert for hazardous conditions.
  • Educate employees on company rules, regulations, and expectations.
  • Manage hourly employee performance, including administering discipline when necessary.
  • Lead and participate in company-sponsored activities, such as training, site projects, and safety programs.
  • Perform production-related administrative tasks, including payroll hours approval and reporting.
  • Provide quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Plant coordinator for Emergency Preparedness Team, ensuring emergency response plans are continually reviewed and updated.
  • Track and report all KPIs related to safety within the facility.
  • Lead safety orientations for all new hires to the facility.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, science, or business preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to achieve results.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and successfully manage change.
  • A dedicated team player who works well cross-functionally.
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, with a focus on Excel.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing is a strong asset.
