About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Millwright to join our team at Stuart Olson, a leading provider of industrial maintenance services. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain multi-stage pumps, reciprocating pumps, gearboxes, and steam turbines
  • Perform general maintenance duties on industrial construction projects
  • Read diagrams, schematic drawings, blueprints, and service manuals to determine work procedures
  • Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
  • Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments
  • Perform predictive and operational procedures
  • Repair and/or replace defective parts
  • Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Maintain an inventory of replacement parts
  • Prepare layout including material selection, sequence planning and methods of work
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards
  • Ability to machine small parts with precision
  • Report all incidents, including damages/non-damages, injury/non-injury incidents
  • Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required
  • Ability to use lathe and milling machine proficiently

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Millwright ticket
  • Energy Safety Canada certifications: H2S Awareness, CSO Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Monitor Elevated Work Platform
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing

Working Conditions:

  • Working at heights
  • Working in a confined space
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Must be clean-shaven
  • Personal safety equipment will be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
