UNIT: Women's & Children's Care Program

STATUS: Temporary Regular Part Time

SALARY: $37.09 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Women's & Children's Care Program is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient and family-oriented services to expectant mothers, pediatric patients, and their families in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

The RPN will operate within their full professional capacity, collaborating effectively with all members of the Women and Children's healthcare team.

WORKING HOURS:

Availability for 11.25 and 7.5 hour shifts, on-call duties, and other schedules as assigned by the healthcare facility, covering a 24-hour rotation, 7 days a week.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered Practical Nurse, currently licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, practicing at full scope. Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in maternal, newborn, or pediatric nursing within the last three (3) years. Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program. Competent in providing independent care for Pediatric, Newborn, and Post-Partum patients. Strong understanding and commitment to Patient and Family Centered Care principles, with practical application. Valid Basic Life Support certification. Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities, with a respectful approach to resolving differences. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a superior patient care experience. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to patient and staff safety. Adaptability to work in a dynamic and evolving environment. Commitment to ongoing professional development through recent coursework in obstetrics, neonatology, pediatrics, or related fields. Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Outlook, Cerner). A performance record that aligns with the values of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Proven reliability in attendance as per the hospital's Attendance at Work Program.

Successful candidates must provide proof of having received a complete primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine or a combination of vaccines authorized by Health Canada, with the final dose administered at least 14 days prior to employment.
