Job Summary

As a Field Technician, Building Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for conducting on-site testing of window, guard rail systems, and membranes for new construction and existing buildings, ensuring compliance with testing standards and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform on-site testing for new construction and existing buildings, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest testing standards and procedures, and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance.
  • Assist the team in preparing comprehensive test reports, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing equipment inventory, and coordinate scheduled maintenance and calibration to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide daily updates on the ongoing testing schedule for all projects, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Analyze and report meaningful performance data for various investigations, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Operate a company vehicle to travel to various site locations, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the concrete lab to report or supplement site testing and reviews as required, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Qualifications
  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field, such as Building/Construction Technology, is required.
  • Experience with field or lab testing of window and railing systems is an asset, demonstrating a strong understanding of testing principles and procedures.
  • Health & Safety training requirements in construction projects are an asset, highlighting a commitment to safety and well-being.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential, enabling effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required, allowing for accurate data analysis and informed decision-making.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance is necessary, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.
  • Able to lift and move heavy equipment, demonstrating physical stamina and adaptability.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, showcasing self-motivation and initiative.
