About Vard Marine: Vard Marine is a leader in the design of specialized vessels tailored to meet a variety of mission needs in challenging environments. Our portfolio includes a range of vessels such as polar research ships and multi-role patrol boats.

Role Overview: As a member of the Naval Architecture Department, you will engage in multiple projects, guiding them from initial concept through to classification and functional design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with various engineering disciplines to ensure the design of vessels is optimal, functional, and sustainable.
  • Verify that solutions meet Class Rules, International Conventions, Flag State, and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and validate statutory plans, including safety, fire control, hazardous zone, firefighting equipment, and life-saving equipment plans.
  • Prepare and confirm outfit drawings and schedules, such as Stair, Door, and Windows & Portlight Schedules.
  • Develop 3D visualizations for project presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Discipline Leads throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • A recognized Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of relevant experience, particularly in coordinating engineering efforts within maritime projects.
  • Familiarity with International Conventions, Codes, and Flag State Regulations related to statutory safety requirements.
  • Practical knowledge of Ship Stability, Propulsion systems, and Ship Structure.
  • General understanding of Ships Mechanical and Electrical systems.
  • Proficient in essential software programs necessary for the role (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD).
  • Comprehension of ship functionality across various vessel types and the shipbuilding process.
