We are seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Liaison Officer to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our Communications Services team, you will play a vital role in representing our organization and building relationships with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic communications initiatives to support the priorities and goals of Northern Health Authority and the Hospital Replacement Project.
- Collaborate with the Communications Lead, Capital Projects, to provide communications leadership and advice to the Project Director.
- Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, program leaders, and community groups to support strategic communication activities.
- Design and implement creative marketing initiatives to enhance awareness and understanding of the Hospital Replacement project in the community.
- Develop and maintain networks, partnerships, and linkages with external agencies and program leaders to support strategic communication activities.
- Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or public administration, plus a minimum of five years' experience in communications and engagement, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to write to a variety of audiences using a range of communications channels.
- Ability to manage, edit, and design web content, as well as design pamphlets, posters, and other materials using MS Publisher and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven experience developing promotional campaign plans and materials for the purpose of community engagement, both online and in-person.
- Ability to work independently within broad direction, think strategically, and apply sound judgment to decision-making and problem-solving.
- Ability to work as a positive and enthusiastic team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success building and cultivating trusted relationships and partnerships with Indigenous communities and external groups.
- Ability to understand and assess the social-political environment and community needs of each community and stakeholder group.
- Ability to grasp and explain technical and professional terms and issues to broad audiences.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and respond with initiative.
- Ability to interact professionally with various levels of internal and external partners.
- In-depth understanding of the complexity of health services, governance, and operations in British Columbia.
- Previous experience with developing and supporting Indigenous community engagement and stakeholder and government relations, including a practical understanding of political processes and landscapes, is an asset.
