Job Summary

We are seeking a Recreation Therapy Assistant to join our team at Vancouver Coastal Health. As a Recreation Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Recreation Therapist to provide support and assistance to patients in a nursing home or home for the aged setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare professionals in providing recreation therapy services to patients
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Support physical therapists in their daily tasks and activities
  • Clean and maintain equipment, adhering to standardized safety practices
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation for re-use
  • Maintain supplies and inventory of equipment
  • Perform general clerical duties, including organizing and maintaining inventory
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Valid driver's licence

  • Work Term: Permanent

  • Hours: 27.75 hours per week
