Job Description

Morrison Hershfield is a leading consulting engineering and management firm that provides innovative solutions for complex infrastructure projects. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transportation Structural Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as project manager and structural lead for engineering assignments, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Lead and conduct inspections of existing bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide recommendations and costing for bridge, culvert, and retaining wall maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation.
  • Manage project teams and provide direction to staff through verbal and written instructions.
  • Attend and participate in team progress meetings to ensure project goals are met.
  • Review and analyze inspection reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, summary reports, and proposals to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Requirements:
  • BASc or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering with a strong interest and experience in bridge engineering.
  • P. Eng. status and 10+ years of experience leading biennial inspection assignments.
  • RAQS eligible within bridge engineering for biennial inspections and wood bridge inspections.
  • Experience in fatigue inspections, proposal and report writing, and asset management.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with bridge inspection and asset management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to supervise, direct, and mentor junior staff.
