Senior Tax Manager
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to join our team at Engage Recruitment. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for overseeing corporate, state, and local tax planning and compliance for Canada and the US.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Plan and file US corporate and state returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
* Monitor transfer pricing policy for multiple entities and ensure compliance with US customs valuation
* Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the organization's tax liability while ensuring compliance with applicable laws
* Develop and maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
* Manage tax audits, including preparing necessary documentation, liaising with tax authorities, and negotiating settlements if required
* Oversee the preparation of tax-related financial reports and ensure accurate reporting of tax positions in financial statements
* Provide tax-related advice and guidance to senior management and other departments within the organization
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* CPA designation
* 5+ years' experience in tax (planning, compliance, strategy)
* Familiarity with federal, state, provincial, and local reporting requirements (Canada, US)
* Ability to work well independently and to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives
* Demonstrated self-starter with strong communication skills
* Goal-oriented leader with a strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
* Change leader with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
* Proven track record in leading and implementing large projects
* Experience managing a growing environment with changing deadlines and priorities
* Ability to travel to other site locations, as needed
