POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled In-Shop Diesel Service Technician to contribute to our operations. This role involves working primarily from a designated branch, with occasional travel to assist clients as needed, estimated at less than 25% of the time, primarily within the region.

The position may require some overtime and weekend work based on customer demands, and technicians will be expected to be on call periodically.

A sign-on bonus of $5000 is available for this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, you will have a significant impact through the following responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic repair tasks on Cummins products at a single customer site with minimal supervision.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring prompt attention to their needs.
  • Utilize specialized tools and adhere to documented procedures to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing necessary parts and tools.
  • Refer unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance activities according to established schedules and standards on Cummins products at customer locations.
  • Complete required documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims through appropriate systems.
  • Engage in training aligned with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and tools.
  • Comply with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman certification.
  • A valid local driving permit is preferred.

Note that this position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working on Cummins Engine platforms, including ISX, X15, B series, L series, N14, and some M11, with some training provided.
  • Intermediate workshop experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of engine products is essential.
  • Familiarity with Onan generators or similar equipment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of QuickServe and Cummins Insite is advantageous.
