Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Service Technician to join our team at Bayview Trucks - Fredericton. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with engines, power trains, electrical systems, steering systems, electronics, brake systems, and suspension systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Identify and order necessary parts for repairs, ensuring timely and accurate completion of work orders.
  • Conduct road tests to diagnose malfunctions and verify repair resolutions.
  • Prepare and submit technical reports to manufacturers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work rotating shifts, including evenings and Saturdays, to cover emergency service calls.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and maintain a positive, professional work environment.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a college certification program in Truck and Transport or Heavy Equipment Service Technician, with a minimum of Block 3 completion.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, in accordance with provincial workplace health and safety standards.
  • Willingness to continue training and obtain necessary licenses.
  • Clean driver's abstract and criminal record check.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Windows-based software.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a service environment.
