Catering Worker Job Description

This position supports both front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) duties at SAIT. In FOH, the Catering Worker provides exceptional customer service, processes guest orders, and delivers food and beverages efficiently. In BOH, the role involves cleaning, food preparation, and basic cooking, adhering to SAIT's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serving/Bartending Duties: Provide efficient and professional service, process guest orders, and deliver food and beverages.
  • Knowledge of menu items and preparation methods.
  • Process all guest orders in the Micros Point of Sale (POS).
  • Execute delivery of all food and beverage in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Provide guests with exceptional customer service.
  • Process all customer bills and payments.
  • Complete end of day cashout procedures, ensuring accuracy of deposit.
  • Maintain a high level of safety and sanitation standards.
  • Cleaning of tables/counters.
  • Monitor and order packaging supply inventory.
  • Stocking of beverage coolers, coffee station/take out supplies, and retail.
  • Assist with the opening and closing duties of the outlet.
  • Setup and teardown of tables, chairs, décor and AV.
  • Assist with replenishing buffet items and all necessary serving utensils.
  • Assume related duties as required.
  • Stewarding / Prep Cook Duties: Cleaning of kitchen equipment, hand washing of dishes, operating dishwasher, and maintaining a high level of safety and sanitation standards.
  • Food preparation.
  • Deep cleaning of all equipment.
  • Knowledge of menu items and preparation methods.
  • Packaging of prepared foods, labeling & pricing.
  • Assist with the opening and closing duties of the outlet.
  • Assume related duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: Previous working experience.
