POSITION SUMMARY:

At Fastenal, we are seeking motivated and team-oriented individuals to join our distribution center as part-time receiving specialists. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the efficient movement of products within our warehouse environment.

As inventory arrives, your responsibilities will include verifying the accuracy of the products and quantities delivered. You will also prepare items for transfer to subsequent departments, ensuring a smooth workflow. Fastenal is dedicated to environmental stewardship and maintaining a safe workplace for all employees, integrating EHS & Sustainability considerations into our operations.

This entry-level position is based in our distribution center and may offer a flexible schedule following a successful onboarding and training period.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary duties of this position encompass, but are not limited to:
o Utilizing computer systems, RF scanners, and printers for product labeling
o Unloading incoming shipments
o Inspecting orders for shipment accuracy and reporting any discrepancies
o Assessing product quality and accuracy
o Weighing products using scales
o Keeping the work area clean and organized
o Adhering to health, safety, and sustainability protocols
o Engaging in initiatives that support the company's health, safety, and sustainability goals
o Completing various environmental health and safety training programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Strong written and verbal communication abilities
o Proficient in computer usage
o Highly motivated, self-driven, and customer-focused
o Excellent mathematical skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency
o Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
o Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
o Willingness to adopt a flexible schedule as required
o Embody our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
o Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages weighing between 25lbs-50lbs, with some items potentially reaching up to 100lbs
o Successful completion of the required drug screening (where applicable)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o Previous experience operating a forklift.
