Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Radiological Technologist
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Radiological Technologist to become part of the Computed Tomography team at a local healthcare facility. This is an opportunity to contribute to a dedicated team.
Responsibilities of the Radiological Technologist 3 at VCH include:
Conducting specialized imaging examinations in computed tomography (CT) and general radiographic procedures, adhering to departmental protocols and ensuring safe radiation protection practices. Responsibilities encompass: receiving and processing requisitions, inputting pertinent data into the radiology information system, preparing examination trays and patients for specific imaging procedures, operating advanced imaging equipment, including the processing and archiving of acquired data, monitoring patients throughout procedures, and assessing equipment performance.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Certification from the CAMRT (Computed Tomography). Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography and a minimum of one (1) year of recent, relevant experience in CT radiology procedures, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course as required by site practices. Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).Knowledge & Skills
Proven understanding of practice standards and guidelines for Medical Imaging professionals established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national associations. Solid knowledge of evidence-based practices related to the designated modality. Familiarity with organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care, including safe work practices with imaging equipment. Comprehensive knowledge of current General Radiography and CT theory and practices within a patient-centered care model. Proficient in safe work procedures with medical imaging technology. Understanding of research methodologies and processes. Familiarity with PACS/radiology information systems, digital imaging, and data archiving and retrieval. Ability to develop procedural protocols and manuals. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, colleagues, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Capacity to manage and guide others in resolving conflict situations. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members. Competence in planning and prioritizing workload in collaboration with others. Proficiency in CT techniques and the use of relevant equipment and supplies. Competence in CPR techniques. Ability to operate related equipment, including applicable software applications. Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work areas, may vary based on operational needs and in accordance with the Collective Agreement and applicable regulations. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
