Job Title: Industrial Education Machine Fitter

Join the team at School District #61 (Greater Victoria) as an Industrial Education Machine Fitter. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of power tools and equipment used in educational programs across the district.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair power tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with teachers, principals, and other staff members to identify equipment needs and develop solutions.
  • Develop and implement procedures for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in machine maintenance and repair.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver's license.
  • Machine Fitter Trade Certification or recognized trade certification in a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in similar duties.
  • Physical ability to perform duties as noted in the job description.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and current software used by the district.
Working Conditions:

The Industrial Education Machine Fitter will work in a fast-paced educational environment, interacting with students, teachers, and other staff members. The role requires the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and to maintain a cooperative working relationship with colleagues.

This is a full-time position with a salary of $37.90 per hour.
