Job Title: Industrial Education Machine Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Education Machine Fitter to join our team at School District #61 (Greater Victoria). The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing power tools and equipment used in educational programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair power tools and equipment used in educational programs
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure equipment is available for educational programs
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver's license
  • Machine Fitter Trade Certification or recognized trade certification in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in similar duties
  • Physical ability to perform duties
  • Knowledge of personal computers and software used by SD#61
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of stakeholders, including principals, teachers, students, parents, and office staff. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a cooperative working relationship is essential.

This position falls within the CUPE Local 382 bargaining unit and offers a competitive salary of $37.90 per hour.
