Job Summary

Piedmont Sheet Metal (1997) Ltd. is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker Helper to join our team. As a key member of our sheet metal shop, you will be responsible for assisting skilled tradespersons with various tasks, including loading and unloading construction materials, operating metalworking machines, and performing other labouring and elemental activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from the sheet metal shop.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons with metalworking tasks, such as cutting, punching, drilling, shaping, and straightening sheet metal.
  • Operate metalworking machines, including CNC machines, to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
  • Perform other labouring and elemental activities as required.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced sheet metal shop environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a sheet metal shop environment, with regular exposure to metalworking machines and equipment. The work term is permanent, and the work language is English. The hours of work are 40 hours per week.
