Job Summary

Piedmont Sheet Metal (1997) Ltd. is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our sheet metal shop, you will be responsible for assisting skilled tradespersons with various tasks, including loading and unloading construction materials, operating metalworking machines, and performing other labouring and elemental activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload and transport construction materials
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • Perform other labouring and elemental activities
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
  • Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines
  • Assist skilled tradespersons
  • Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
Requirements
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 40 hours per week
