We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Elder Tree Montessori. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a Safe and Healthy Environment
    • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the daycare equipment and facilities.
  • Engaging Children in Learning Activities
    • Develop and implement engaging storytelling sessions to promote language and literacy skills.
    • Assist early childhood educators in planning and executing activities that foster creativity, music, and physical activity.
  • Supporting Early Childhood Educators
    • Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
    • Collaborate with early childhood educators to identify and address potential learning or behavioral issues.
  • Preparing for Daily Operations
    • Order necessary supplies and equipment to ensure a smooth daily operation.
    • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Communicating with Parents and Guardians
    • Submit written observations on children's progress to early childhood educators or supervisors.
    • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and address any concerns.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 35 hours per week.
