Lead Project Improvement Specialist

Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated Project Improvement Specialist to become a vital part of our team at Andritz Hydro Canada inc. This role will involve occasional travel to various project locations and manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with process owners and human resources to design a comprehensive training program focused on continuous improvement methodologies.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members on lean principles and continuous improvement strategies to facilitate successful project execution.
- Spearhead the adoption of innovative ideas and process enhancements, prioritizing and managing continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean six sigma techniques.
- Conduct thorough data analysis employing statistical methods to derive insights and support decision-making.
- Establish and evaluate key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness and benefits of implemented improvements, aligning with organizational goals.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions and conduct project postmortem evaluations to enhance future project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, complemented by experience in continuous improvement.
- Proficient in both French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to various sites and facilities as required.
- Solid understanding of problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools such as DMAIC, Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen, and 8D.
- Familiarity with the cost of poor quality and methods for capturing these metrics.
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis techniques, including ANOVA, DOE, regression analysis, and capability analysis.
- Understanding of quality, health, and safety considerations in project business and construction environments.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Visio, Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experienced with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab).
- Knowledge of non-conformance management systems, such as SAP or equivalent ERP platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification is advantageous.
- ISO 9001 auditor certification is a plus.
