Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and imaginative Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area. This role involves providing speech therapy services under the supervision of a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
The CDA will conduct individualized therapy sessions with clients across various settings, including homes and clinics, adapting their schedule to meet client needs. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
CDA Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapy to clients of all ages, including children, adults, and rehabilitation patients, under the guidance of an SLP.
- Engage with clients from diverse backgrounds and specialized groups.
- Collaborate with SLPs and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and create therapy materials as required.
- Provide families with educational resources and home program guidance.
- Assist in organizing workshops for parents and clients.
- Participate in ongoing professional development through classes and workshops.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Completion of an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program.
- Membership in CDAAC.
- Experience with children on the Autism Spectrum is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
