About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Kara Mia Restaurants Ottawa Inc. as a key member of our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Supervise and manage a team of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities, including menu planning, food quality control, and inventory management.
  • Customer Service: Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events, such as banquets, and ensure that food meets quality standards.
  • Staff Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and recruit and hire new staff members as needed.
  • Operations: Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs, and consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Transportation: Own transportation or ability to use public transportation.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, with standing for extended periods.
