Homes First Society is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and overseeing events, outings, and recreational activities tailored to the needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Gather feedback from residents and staff to design and oversee the implementation and evaluation of programs, outings, and recreational activities.
- Community Partnerships: Connect with external agencies and organizations to provide services that meet the needs of our residents.
- Program Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor current and ongoing programs, provide support, and evaluate performance on a regular basis.
- Data Management: Keep accurate records of programs, events, and outings, including attendance and involvement of internal and external stakeholders.
- Communication Strategies: Develop and implement communication strategies to inform residents and staff about programs and services.
- Team Management: Work closely with the Manager and Supervisor of Programming to coordinate events, obtain resources, and supervise a unionized workforce.
- Crisis Intervention: Intervene in crises, de-escalate conflicts, and respond to client emergencies, including overdoses and the administration of Naloxone or oxygen.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to Homes First's policies and procedures, including Harm Reduction Policies.
- Employee Performance Management: Manage employee performance, conduct performance reviews, and complete necessary administrative duties.
- Education: Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent in education and experience.
- Experience: At least 3 years' experience working with people who are homeless, under-housed, and dealing with addictions and mental illness.
- Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year's experience supervising unionized staff.
- Case Management: Demonstrated experience performing case management functions and ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge and Certifications: Knowledge of relevant laws, standards, and guidelines, as well as certificates in First Aid, CPR, Crisis Prevention, and Intervention (an asset).
- Computer Literacy: Ability to access and use a variety of information system tools to support the delivery of the project.
