This diverse group of professionals collaborates with over 250 Indigenous peoples, groups, and organizations across Canada, sharing a commitment to understanding and honoring their rich history and contributions.

As a vital member of our team, you will leverage advanced technology to provide a comprehensive range of services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and payroll administration. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid or remote work arrangement. Please note that this position is not intended for individuals pursuing their CPA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle bookkeeping and payroll processes for MNP clients.
  • Prepare and oversee payroll and related government remittances/filings (PST-GST), as well as record sales, accounts receivable, expenses, and accounts payable for the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST).
  • Establish client files and assist in the development of budgets and administrative planning.
  • Maintain, monitor, and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and intercompany transactions.
  • Identify discrepancies and issues, investigate them, and collaborate with supervisors or engagement partners to formulate solutions.
  • Communicate with government entities regarding information requests, assessments, and payments.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with clients and team members.

Required Skills and Experience

  • An accounting certificate or a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (preferably with a focus on accounting, finance, or management information systems).
  • Proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Familiarity with non-profit organizations or First Nations is an asset.
  • Experience in implementing accounting systems; preference for those with experience transitioning from desktop to cloud applications.
  • Proficiency with desktop-based small business accounting software, such as QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50, Sage 300, Xyntax, Adagio, or other legacy systems.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting solutions is advantageous (e.g., QBO, Xero, Sage Intacct).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, along with image editing software (e.g., GIMP, Snag It).
